Why I created the method
Fine natural hair was being misunderstood — daily.
After more than 20 years behind the chair, I noticed the same pattern over and over. Fine natural hair wasn’t the problem. It was being misunderstood. Products were chosen without assessing the strand. Styles were installed without considering tension. Maintenance plans were inconsistent. There wasn’t a professional framework designed specifically for fine natural hair, so I created one.
The Duplan Method™ is the framework I’ve refined through years of working with my own clients. Today, it serves as the foundation for the educational platform I’m building for licensed professionals, salons, and future school partnerships.
